Silvermist Mountain Lodge Estate

Sascha and Chris at the Tree House Restaurant,
 Silvermist Mountain Lodge Estate

On our recent stay in Cape Town, we were fortunate to be guests at four very special getaways.  I will mention them each to thank them for their hospitality and to show you their breathtaking surroundings.
If you are ever inclined to visit South Africa and Cape Town in particular, have a taste of at least one of them, you will not be disappointed!

"Silvermist Mountain Lodge Estate and Winefarm"
(www.silvermistmountainlodge.co.za) is family owned and run by Alan and Candace Louw with their son Gregory (the winemaker) and daughter Chessa.  They made sure our month long stay here was most enjoyable.
Protea, South Africa's National Flower grows here is abundance
Blue Gum Trees abound
Each cottage is unique, this one is named 'Eagles Nest', we stayed in 'Lookout'
Silvermist is nestled in the Table Mountain Nature area at Constantia Nek, only 15 minutes from the centre of Cape Town. The fully serviced picturesque cottages all overlook the valley of the Twelve Apostle Mountain Range.
The magnificent view of the Mountains

Organic vineyards produce delicious wines and the staff are friendly and efficient.

The bird and plant life are plentiful and full of color, our children thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of roaming the estate, safely, exploring the nature paths and natural springs.

After a scrumptious breakfast at the Tree House Restaurant you can pack a picnic and hike or run up one of the scenic trails that are part of the Table Mountain Reserve surrounding Silvermist.

One down, three to go...coming up next... Kleinefontein.

Looks like I've managed to create some space on the blog by shuffling pics around (painful process).  We will see how it goes
