Nick and Petra Melck, our hosts, were entertaining and attentive.  The delicious aroma's that continuously waft out of Petra's kitchen are mouthwatering.  Be prepared to roll home after a week end at Doornfontein. 

The farmhouse was built in the 1870'S and beautifully restored. Each of the rooms is decorated in an African Theme and the indoor pool gives year round access.  

Bird watching, Horseriding, motorbike riding, kitesurfing(on the saltwater lake) and waterskiing on the Berg River that runs through it are but some of the activities.
