Crossing the Great Bahama Bank

A great expanse of Blue

We set sail across the Bank at 6:30am.  I really am trying to wrap my head around the fact that here in the Bahamas it is super shallow water sailing.  The Bank for instance, 80 miles of no more than 4 to 5 feet below the keel.  It does make for some amazing colored ocean though, check it out!

Stopping half way for a lobster dive, we in fact came up with crab!  We steamed the crab and ate just like that (cracking open the pincers with pliers), very tasty sweet meat.  I made some Spicy Roasted Butternut to go with it.

Anchoring for the night on the Bank, in the middle of nowhere, with nothing in sight except the stars and the moon, which seem so much brighter out here, highly recommended!
