Naval Boatyard, Honduras

T R I B E on the hard getting a bit of spit and polish from Chris

The Town of Puerto Cortez where the Naval Base is situated.  Crazy Cables everywhere!

Base Naval, Puerto Cortez, Honduras.  This was a pleasant little find.  We decided to haul out and paint the anti fouling, as one does once a year.  This shipyard is cheap and clean.  It was quite fun waking up at the crack of dawn with the navy boys doing their workout around us as we worked on T R I B E.

The town of Puerto Cortez has everything one needs for working on your boat and for stocking up, a huge supermarket like Cost U Less called Maxi Dispenseria.

The haul out was only 200 US Dollars (out and in) and it's 15 US dollars a day on the hard.  SAFARI and Amphitreete decided it was time for a make over and both had their hulls sprayed, grey and red respectively.  Very smart indeed.

The Honduran people are SO friendly and helpful, all taking every opportunity to chat.  Strangers constantly greeting and welcoming us to Puerto Cortez.  It was refreshing after Guatemala where people mostly minded their own business.

Yay, readers in Namibia (I know who you are :) ) and Ecuador have joined us, welcome!

Stay with us as we next sail to the Bay Islands of Honduras...
